2nd generation NISSEN CHP at Mariagerfjord Water<\/strong><\/h3>\n

In the early summer of 2023, Mariagerfjord Vand was ready to increase capacity and add another CHP plant to their existing plant, which NISSEN energy delivered back in 2014.
After a competitive bidding process, NISSEN energy was once again chosen to be responsible for the delivery.<\/p>\n

At Mariagerfjord Vand, we were responsible for the delivery, installation and commissioning of a complete NISSEN Power Module 308 kWe based on a MAN E3268 LE262 gas engine including gas conditioning system, associated gas treatment, chimney and oil system.<\/p>\n

Communication with SCADA and a mobile 4G modem mounted in the switchboard enables easy connection to the plant for NISSEN energy\u2019s service personnel and is 100% separate from the plant\u2019s other communication, and fulfils all applicable European requirements for IT security.<\/p>\n

The delivery also included project planning including drawings and PI diagrams as well as project management including documentation, quality assurance and CE marking.<\/p>\n

The digestion of sludge in the digester produces, among other things, methane gas. The gas is converted into electricity and heat on a gas engine. The electricity produced is sold to the grid, while the heat is primarily used for internal heating of the treatment plant and administration.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The excess heat is sold to the local district heating company. It is expected that from 2024, Mariagerfjord Wastewater Treatment Plant will produce significantly more energy than it consumes. This is partly due to the larger load and thus larger sludge volume and partly because the expansion of the treatment plant has resulted in more energy-efficient treatment.<\/span><\/h4>\n

The treatment process also means that there is a minimum emission of CO2, nitrous oxide and methane from the treatment plant.<\/span><\/h4>\n

In September 2017, three utilities agreed that it was the safest and most financially advantageous option in terms of treatment to gather the treatment at Mariagerfjord Wastewater Treatment Plant and expand the treatment plant to the necessary capacity.<\/h4>\n

The treatment plant is built with a priority on efficient and safe wastewater treatment, utilization of the energy in the wastewater, the possibility of establishing additional treatment stages, a good working environment for operation and servicing of the plant, and that the treatment plant is as economical as possible.<\/h4>\n
